Gambia:jameeh is playing games with me -sir leaf

Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, liberia’s president has expressed her anger and disappointment at Gambia president for recording and broadcasting their private phone conversation.
she told the BBC Focus On Africa Programme that Mr Jammeh was playing games with her.
“At the time he called me, I was thinking that he was going to find a way out of this and he was going to be able to work with the [mediation] team but unknown to me it was just a game.
Betternewsblog recall that Mr Jammeh telephoned Mrs Sirleaf, chairperson of the regional bloc Ecowas, and appealed to her to help provide Supreme Court judges to preside over his election petition on sunday.
The telephone conversation between the two presidents was broadcasted on gambia state television, Mr Jammeh said in quote’i want to resolve the election dispute peacefully through the court in line with the provisions of the Gambian constitution’.
He also told liberia’s president Mrs Sirleaf that he had filed an injunction at the supreme court, which the Chief Justice today declined to hear.
Mrs Sirleaf said in quote ‘it is unfortunate that Mr Jammeh had recorded the telephone conversation without advising her of his intention.Unfortunately, being the person that he is, he recorded and televised the conversation without advising me of his intent to do so’.
President of liberia also stated that there is no change in Ecowas’s position. The constitution of the Gambia must be respected. My only duty was to take his appeal and pass it on to the mediating team.
Technically jameeh is meant to leave office on wednesday and sworing in ceremony should take place on thursday. But as it is now there is high tendency that the planned activities for transition will not be fulfill, due to jameeh adamant nature.
At betternewsblog we wish the people of gambia the best.
